The San Francisco 49ers announced Saturday that they’ve placed RB Tevin Coleman (knee) on injured reserve and promoted C Hroniss Grasu, RB JaMycal Hasty and LB Joe Walker to the active roster.
It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list in just three weeks.
Coleman, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Falcons back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year, $3.219 million contract before agreeing to a two-year, $10 million contract with the 49ers last year.
In 2020, Coleman has appeared in two games for the 49ers and rushed for 30 yards on 18 carries (1.7 YPC) to go along with three receptions for 34 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
Hasty, 24, signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Baylor back in April. He was waived coming out of training camp and signed on with the practice squad.
During his four-year college career, Hasty recorded 386 rushing attempts for 1,998 yards (5.2 YPC) and 15 touchdowns, to go along with 79 receptions for 485 yards receiving (6.1 YPC) and one touchdown.
