Dianna Russini reports that the 49ers are placing a second-round tender on RFA RB Matt Breida on Tuesday.
- According to Russini, the 49ers are not tendering an offer to LB Elijah Lee.
- The 49ers announced that they’ve also placed a second-round tender on RFA WR Kendrick Bourne.
The second-round tender is projected to cost around $3.27 million for the 2020 season and ensures that they would get a second-round pick should they decline to match an offer sheet from another team.
Breida, 25, wound up going undrafted out of Georgia Southern back in 2017. He later agreed to a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the 49ers.
Breida will be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.
In 2019, Breida appeared in 13 games for the 49ers and rushed for 623 yards on 123 carries (5.1 YPC) to go along with 19 receptions for 120 yards receiving and two total touchdowns.
