According to Ian Rapoport, the 49ers have promoted DB Marcell Harris from the practice squad and released DB Antone Exum in a corresponding move.
Exum, 28, is a former sixth-round pick by the Vikings in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was entering the final year of a four-year, $2,335,788 rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season when the team waived him a few weeks into 2017.
The 49ers later signed Exum to a one-year contract in November and he finished out the season in San Francisco. He re-signed with the 49ers for each of the past two seasons.
In 2019, Exum appeared in three games for the 49ers and recorded one tackle.
