The San Francisco 49ers announced that they’ve released rookie LBย Ben Boulware from their practice squad on Tuesday and signed DB Jarnor Jones.
The 49ers’ practice squad now consists of:
- WR DeAndre Carter
- OL John Flynn
- TE Cole Hikutini
- CB Asa Jackson
- QB Nick Mullens
- DL Noble Nwachukwu
- WR DeAndre Smelter
- OL Darrell Williams Jr.
- RBย Jeremy McNichols
- DBย Jarnor Jones
Boulware, 23,ย wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Panthers cut him loose as they cut their roster down the 53 players.
The 49ers signed him to a contract last week.
During his college career at Clemson, Boulware recorded 261 tackles, 26.5 tackles for a loss, eight sacks, five interceptions with one being returned for a touchdown, seven forced fumbles, and four pass defenses.
