Johnson, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Browns in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was in the second-year ofย a four-year, $2,399,452 rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $525,000 this season when Cleveland cut him loose a few months into the 2016 season.
The Seahawks signed him to their practice squad and eventually promoted him to their active roster. However, Seattle eventually waived from injured reserve this past June.
In 2016, Johnson appeared in seven games for the Seahawks and recorded five receptions for 44 yards and lost one fumble. He also contributed one rushing attempt for two yards.
