The San Francisco 49ers have signed CB Eric Wright to a one-year deal.
- The 49ers waived undrafted rookie CB Lowell Rose to make room for Wright.
- Wright has been placed on the Non-Football Injury/Illness List.
49ers GM Trent Baalke previous mentioned that he was not willing to close the door on adding Wright to their roster, despite the fact that their trade with the Buccaneers was voided.
San Francisco lost CB Chris Culliver for the season after he suffered a torn ACL, so it does make sense that they would bring in some additional help at cornerback. Nnamdi Asomugha has reportedly been up and down during training camp. It appears as though the 49ers will use Tramaine Brock as their No. 3 corner.
