The San Francisco 49ers officially signed DT Willie Henry to a futures contract for the 2020 season on Wednesday.
The full list of futures players’ the 49ers have signed include:
- DE Jonathan Kongbo
- DB Derrick Kindred
- DB Chris Edwards
- OT Leonard Wester
- DT Willie Henry
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Henry, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2016. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $2,723,393 rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $720,000 for the 2019 season when Baltimore cut him loose coming out of the preseason.
The 49ers brought him in for a workout earlier this month after leaving tryouts for the Eagles, Patriots, Cowboys, Bills, Texans, and Raiders throughout the season without a contract.
In 2018, Henry appeared in three games for the Ravens and recorded three tackles and one sack.
We had him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
