The San Francisco 49ers announced that they’ve signed WR DeAndre Carter to a two-year contract on Friday.
Carter, 23, originally signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Sacramento State back in May of 2015. He lasted just a few months in Baltimore before he was waived coming out of the preseason.
The Raiders later signed Carter to their practice squad before he was cut loose and later signed to the Patriots’ taxi squad in December. New England elected to bring him back on a future/reserve contract last January but he was among their final roster cuts at the last of the regular season.
During his college career at Sacramento State, Carter totaled 207 receptions for 2,760 yards receiving and 35 touchdowns.
