The San Francisco 49ers have announced that they are signing OT William Sweet to a contract.
Sweet, 23, wound up going undrafted out of North Carolina last year before agreeing to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Cardinals. Unfortunately, Arizona waived him with an injury designation coming out of the preseason.
After clearing waivers, Sweet reverted to the Cardinals’ injured reserve list where he remained for the entire 2019 season. The Cardinals opted to waive Sweet this past February.
During his four-year college career at UNC, Sweet appeared in 26 games over the course of three seasons.
