The San Francisco 49ers announced Thursday that they’ve officially signed OL Spencer Long to a one-year deal and waived DL Alex Barrett.
- Field Yates first reported that the 49ers were signing Long.
Long, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Redskins back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,863,800 contract with the Redskins before agreeing to a four-year, $28 million deal with the Jets.
Long was set to make base salaries of $3 million and $6.25 million over the next two years of the agreement when the Jets released him in 2019. He signed a three-year, $15 million deal with the Bills.
Buffalo elected to release him last week after exercising his option back in March.
In 2019, Long appeared in 14 games for the Bills as a reserve offensive lineman.
