The San Francisco 49ers announced Wednesday that they’ve waived DB Antone Exum Jr to make room for DT Earl Mitchell, who has been re-signed to their active roster.
Exum, 28, is a former sixth-round pick by the Vikings in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was entering the final year of a four-year, $2,335,788 rookie contract when the team waived him a few weeks into 2017.
The 49ers later signed Exum to a one-year contract and he’s returned to San Francisco each of the past two years. He’s been on and off of the 49ers’ roster this season.
In 2019, Exum has appeared in seven games for the 49ers and recorded one tackle.
