AFC East Notes: Bills, Dolphins, Patriots

Bills

Dolphins

  • Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald writes that the only significant move the Dolphins need to make regarding their wide receivers is releasing WR DeVante Parker before his $9.4 million salary becomes guaranteed for the 2019 season.
  • However, Jackson says it would be prudent of the Dolphins to try to trade veteran WR Danny Amendola for a day-three draft or release him outright if there’s no deal to be made. Jackson points out that Amendola’s $5.9 million salary for next season is non-guaranteed.
  • Even so, there could be a case for the Dolphins keeping Amendola until August to see if a contender is in need of a receiver.

Patriots

  • When asked he’s shocked he knows how long Tom Brady will play, his dad, Tom Brady Sr said: “I don’t. I’m shocked that he’s even playing today. But he says he wants three or four or five more years.” (Albert Breer)
