AFC North Notes: Bengals, Browns, Ravens

Bengals

Following the Bengals recent decision to release S George Iloka, veteran DE Michael Johnson says he isn’t worried about his status with the team and is instead focused on doing what he can to be “disciplined and dependable.โ€

โ€œWhy would Iย think about that?โ€ Johnson said, via Jay Morrison ofย The Athletic. โ€œI come in and I work hard and I do whatever Iโ€™m asked to do, and I donโ€™t worry about all that. You canโ€™t. Of course you see whatโ€™s going on, but you control what you can control. You get to focusing and worrying about all the other stuff, you get distracted, and that ainโ€™t what you want. Iโ€™m just focused on being disciplined and dependable.โ€

Browns

  • Dianna Russini points out thatย while the Browns have shown interest in WR Dez Bryant, they have the top waiver priority ahead of roster cuts and it’s possible they could add some receiver help as notable options become available.

Ravens

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said that the decision to keep QB Robert Griffin III on their roster will “go right down to the wire.”

โ€œHe has played atย a starting-caliber levelย in the games that heโ€™s played, and heโ€™s an experienced guy,โ€ Harbaugh said, via ESPN.com. โ€œIโ€™d rather have him than not have him, for sure, but there are other factors that go into that and weโ€™ll have to figure all that out. Ozzie ultimately will have to make that decision.โ€
