AFC Notes: Bengals, Jets, Patriots

Bengals

  • Per Geoff Hobson of the official team website, Bengals RB Rodney Anderson could be looking at a mid-August return from his torn ACL last preseason.

Jets

  • ESPNโ€™s Rich Cimini says he would be surprised if the Jets traded for Redskins LT Trent Williams given their history with aging, disgruntled offensive lineman.
  • The Jets have a pre-draft workout scheduled with Iowa OT Tristan Wirfs. (Rich Cimini)

Patriots

Patriots WR Phillip Dorsett re-signed with New England last offseason on a one-year deal, and he never really considered other options. Set to go through the process again this year, Dorsett says heโ€™ll be more willing to explore other options.

โ€œI would say that will probably be a little different,โ€ Dorsett said via ESPNโ€™s Mike Reiss. โ€œLast year, I had my heart set on where I wanted to go and I didnโ€™t have an open mind. This year, I know I have to go into it with an open mind.โ€

  • Former Patriots OC Charlie Weiss said he texted QB Tom Brady, who told him: โ€œNobody knows anything. So anyone who is telling you they know, they donโ€™t know.โ€
  • Patriots DT Adam Butler changed agents as heโ€™s set to hit restricted free agency this offseason.
  • Reiss notes Patriots C David Andrews continues to progress well in his recovery after blood clots in his lungs wiped out his 2019 season.
