AFC Notes: Bengals, Jets, Patriots

Bengals

  • Per Geoff Hobson of the official team website, Bengals RB Rodney Anderson could be looking at a mid-August return from his torn ACL last preseason.

Jets

  • ESPN’s Rich Cimini says he would be surprised if the Jets traded for Redskins LT Trent Williams given their history with aging, disgruntled offensive lineman.
  • The Jets have a pre-draft workout scheduled with Iowa OT Tristan Wirfs. (Rich Cimini)

Patriots

Patriots WR Phillip Dorsett re-signed with New England last offseason on a one-year deal, and he never really considered other options. Set to go through the process again this year, Dorsett says he’ll be more willing to explore other options.

“I would say that will probably be a little different,” Dorsett said via ESPN’s Mike Reiss. “Last year, I had my heart set on where I wanted to go and I didn’t have an open mind. This year, I know I have to go into it with an open mind.”

  • Former Patriots OC Charlie Weiss said he texted QB Tom Brady, who told him: “Nobody knows anything. So anyone who is telling you they know, they don’t know.”
  • Patriots DT Adam Butler changed agents as he’s set to hit restricted free agency this offseason.
  • Reiss notes Patriots C David Andrews continues to progress well in his recovery after blood clots in his lungs wiped out his 2019 season.
