AFC Notes: Bills, Browns, Ravens & Steelers

Bills

A Bills veteran tells Albert Breer the new offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn has really just simplified the same offense they were running under Greg Roman before he was fired a few weeks ago.

The changes aren’t super simple,” said the veteran said. “We’re running the same plays that we did under G-Ro. It’s just that with Roman, we had a huge playbook and we could run absolutely anything from week-to-week. Anthony’s all about matchups… He played [in the NFL], so he knows matchups are huge.

Buffalo’s offense has really made some strides in recent weeks and has helped them rattle off three straight wins.

Browns

Ravens

  • According to Albert Breer, the Ravens elected to hire Marc Trestman as their offensive coordinator a few years ago because he was able to convince HC John Harbaugh that he could run a reasonable facsimile of Gary Kubiak‘s offensive.
  • However, the difference between the two ultimately came down to the fact that Kubiak’s offense is grounded in the running game while Trestman’s is more in line with the passing attack.
  • The Ravens ultimately pulled the plug on Trestman after a disappointing Week 5 loss to the Redskins.
