AFC Notes: Bills, Dolphins, Jaguars

Bills

Bills QB Josh Allen believes they “weren’t all that far off from being [in the playoffs] this year.

“I think, if you look at this past year, we weren’t all that far off from being there this year,” Allen said, via Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News. “I’d say there were a few games that got away from us, but for the most part, you can change four or five plays and the season might be a different story. So I definitely agree with him.

“We’re looking to build something special. We’re looking to go back to the playoffs and develop a sustainable success in Buffalo. And that’s what we want to do. That’s what the city deserves.

Dolphins

  • A source familiar with the situation tells Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post that there’s a “zero point zero percent chance” of Patriots LBs coach Brian Flores pulling a Josh McDaniels and backing out of an opportunity to become the Dolphins’ next head coach.
  • Schad says that Flores wants the Dolphins’ job and is comfortable with their rebuilding plan.

Jaguars

  • Matt Miller says one theory going around at the NFLPA practices this week is the Eagles trading QB Nick Foles to the Jaguars now that they’ve hired John DeFilippo as their new offensive coordinator.
  • According to Miller, many have theorized that if the Eagles are looking for a second-round pick for Foles, the Jaguars should jump at the opportunity.
