AFC Notes: Browns, Jaguars, Jets, Texans

Browns

While rookie DeShone Kizer had a strong showing in his first preseason game, Browns QBs coach David Lee stressed that there’s still a long ways to go for Kizer.

โ€œHeโ€™s still not there,โ€ Lee said, via ESPN.com. โ€œHe knows it.โ€

โ€œHeโ€™s trying and heโ€™s doing better,โ€ Lee said. โ€œHas he got it mastered? Not yet. So weโ€™ve got to know he can do all of it before we put him out there full-time. So heโ€™s not ready for that yet.โ€

Even so, Lee highlighted Kizer’s arm strength as one of his best attributes.

โ€œHe gives you big-play ability in the passing game at the quarterback position,โ€ Lee said. โ€œYou guys saw it the other day, the two deep balls. Heโ€™s got a great long arm, but he can throw corner routes, post routes, skinny post on a line.

โ€œHe doesnโ€™t limit you. You can throw whatever you want to because heโ€™s got such great arm talent.โ€
