AFC Notes: Browns, Jaguars, Ravens

Browns

Browns OT Greg Robinson is most known for being a bust as a former top-ten pick by the Rams picked for his athletic upside. Now, Robinson is trying to revive his career as the starting left tackle in Cleveland by focusing on technique.

“It’s all about balance for me,” Robinson said via Cleveland.com’s Jake Burns. “Ten toes down. I’ve worked hard over the years to improve in this area, to the point I’m not doubting myself. Things are starting to slow down for me, and my feet are catching up.”

  • The Browns worked out TE David Lucero on Friday. (Aaron Wilson)
  • Terez A. Paylor mentions RB Nick Chubb as a player that has really made waves this training camp. Paylor adds that Chubb did not shrink from the challenge of Kareem Hunt’s presence and has seemingly kicked it into another gear.

Jaguars

  • Jaguars HC Doug Marrone told reporters that TE Josh Oliver has a “significant” hamstring injury. Phillip Heilman says it sounds like the team will plan as if Oliver won’t be ready for the start of the regular season.

Ravens

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said earlier in the week that there will likely be even more rushing attempts for QB Lamar Jackson this year.

However, Jackson said during an interview on The Rich Eisen Show that he expects less carries this season.

Absolutely. I’ve put on weight,” Jackson said when asked if he could sustain the physical toll of the 147 rushing attempts he had last year, via ESPN.com. “But I don’t think I’ll be running as much as I did last year. There were a lot of [run-pass options] and a lot of sudden changes in last year’s game. This will be totally different.
