Jets
Jets HC Adam Gase told reporters that he’s not going to focus on his job security.
โIโm gonna do what I always do, come back to work tomorrow and try to get things fixed,โ Gase said. โItโs something I canโt worry about. Iโve gotta focus on getting our guys ready.โ
- Per ESPN’s Rich Cimini, an opposing scout listed Jets first-round LT Mekhi Becton, DT Quinnen Williams, WR Jamison Crowder and S Marcus Maye as players who would start for most other teams.
- The scout added CB Blessuan Austin, LB Avery Williamson, TE Chris Herndon and DT Folorunso Fatukasi as players who could start on some teams. He had no idea what to do with RB Le’Veon Bell.
Patriots
- ESPN’s Mike Reiss notes Patriots RB Sony Michel likely needs to step things up in order to keep his starting job when RB Damien Harris returns from injured reserve this week.
- Reiss notes Patriots HC Bill Belichick hasn’t yet designated any practice squad players as “protected” to prevent other teams from claiming them during the week.
Texans
Texans HC Bill O’Brien said after Sundayโs loss to the Steelers that he doesnโt think anyone on the team in panicking, despite the 0-3 start to the season.
โI donโt think so. We have a really veteran team,โ OโBrien said, via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. โI donโt think anybody is panicking. 0-3 isnโt where we want to be. Urgency. Thereโs no panic. Weโve got to get over the hump here.โ
