Patriots

While Patriots HC Bill Belichick was in Barbados before free agency, he did speak with Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for Trent Brown, about a new deal.

“Don’t let those photos fool you,” Rosenhaus tells Peter King. “We talked one morning at 4:30 about Trent Brown. They wanted to keep him.”

  • Albert Breer hears that the Patriots were making calls on receivers toward the end of the week. Breer adds that it may be just “routine tire-kicking” or possibly more.
  • According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, P Ryan Allen changed agents, which could be causing a holdup in negotiations with the Patriots.

Titans

New Titans DE Cameron Wake says he’s a perfect fit with the Titans and doesn’t expect to slow down at the age of 37.

“I’ve been old since I was 28,” Wake said, via Jim Wyatt of the team’s official website. “Every year I am too old. Anything that’s happened, I’ve been injured, and it’s like “It’s over. He’s done. If I had nickel for every time I’d probably go buy a team.  It is not necessarily proving people wrong. I do what I do for people who believe. I don’t do it for the doubters, I do it for the people who believe in me. . . . I guess that chip has carried me — nobody wanted me back then, and you have to hit the reset button and go back at it and continue to be myself and that’s gotten me where I am. And it’s not going to change either.”
