Broncos HC Sean Payton reinforced his relationship with DC Vance Joseph and said that the two are on the same page.
“I’m in a great spot with him,” Payton said, via PFT. “You have to understand one thing about me. He won’t be the only one. I was frustrated, and you don’t want to use those timeouts. Sometimes, it’s hard to be pleased or not upset. You want to play your perfect game. That was a good win for us, and yet I’m driving home last night heading to get sushi. I don’t like sushi, and I’m finding myself circling around the parking lot [thinking], ‘All right, why can’t I be happy?’ Well, you’re searching for that perfect game. I’m just that way. I’m going to wear my emotions on my sleeve, whether it’s defense or offense.”
Chiefs
- Jesse Newell of the Kansas City Star has additional reporting on Chiefs WR Justyn Ross‘ arrest. He was brought in Monday on what was initially reported as felony property damage. However, Newell says Ross has been charged with two misdemeanors: one count of domestic battery with no priors and one count of criminal damage to property totaling less than $1,000.
- Newell cites the criminal complaint filed to the police, per which a person whom Ross was in a dating relationship called following an incident on Monday. The report says she sustained minor injuries, though nothing specific was mentioned. The property damaged, per the report, was a laptop, iPhone, computer monitor, gold bracelet, and a car key. Drugs, alcohol, or weapons were not cited in the report.
- Newell also cites radio traffic captured from the dispatch call in which the victim said Ross was “dragging her through the house and has torn up the house.” The woman called from a neighbor’s house because she said Ross had broken her phone.
Raiders
- Raiders HC Josh McDaniels is unsure if QB Jimmy Garoppolo will be able to play in Week 8: “I’m hoping for this week, but I don’t have clarification yet.” (Andrew Siciliano)

The more I see of this Payton dude the more I dislike him. Apparently he’s had success in the past. If I was ownership, Payton would be down the road. His way of doing things is WRONG!! You can’t talk to people like that and win. I’d keep Russ and fire Payton. With a decent coach I think they could win with Wilson, if you can make the arm band mandatory.
