AFC Notes: Trevor Lawrence, Tank Dell, Jaguars, Texans, Titans

Jaguars

Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence said he’s excited about the possibility of signing a contract extension with the team but noted that he still has a lot of work to do regardless of what happens.

It’s something I’m not concerned with,” Lawrence said, via Jags Wire. “Obviously, I would love to get a deal done at some point, whether that’s this year, next year, who knows? I’m not really worried about that. But obviously, you want to have some security and you want to make money, you want to play and do as well as you can. But at the same time, I know I have a job to do, regardless. Whether I get the extension this year, next year, whatever it is. I have the same job to do, regardless. I have to prepare myself to be the best player I can be next season and take us as far as we can go. So I know that’s my job and that’s not going to change.

Texans

Texans WR Tank Dell (fibula) plans on being “ready to go” for OTAs and plans on connecting with teammates like C.J. Stroud this offseason.

“Yeah, definitely by the time they come back, I’m going to hit the ground running,” Dell said, via Aaron Wilson. “I’m going to be ready. I’m just waiting on 7 and those guys to come back from enjoying their time off and we’ll get back to work. The offseason has been good, just rehab every day, Monday through Friday, Saturdays on my own. Trying to get one percent, so, once we do come back for OTAs, I’m ready to go.”

Dell is trying to stay patient with his recovery.

“Definitely, because me being who I am I’m ready to go right now, but I just can’t,” Dell said. “So, just staying patient, staying humble, putting my faith in God just knowing when the timing is right I’ll be ready to go.”

Dell thinks his rookie season was just a “test run” and he has a lot more to his game.

I just feel that was a test run for me,” Dell said. “I had a lot more to display, but God puts you through things for a reason. So I just kept my head up. I know the years to come are going to be special here. It’s going to be good.”

Titans

Georgia TE Brock Bowers singled out the Titans as a place where he would like to start his professional career. Tennessee has the No. 7 overall pick and could certainly use a player like Bowers.

I’d be alright going to the Tennessee Titans. I liked it down in the Georgia, Tennessee area. That was cool, that would be a cool spot to be,” Bowers said, via PFT.

  • The Titans blocked multiple interview requests for RB coach/run game coordinator Justin Outten, indicating there’s a strong possibility he remains on staff under new HC Brian Callahan. (Justin Melo
