AFC South Notes: Colts, Jaguars, Texans, Titans

Colts

  • According to Kevin Bowen, the Colts plan to use DE Justin Houston more in passing situations to rush the passer, meaning less playing time but fewer snaps in coverage.
  • Bowen says second-year DE Kemoko Turay will need to gain weight to hold up for a full season, while second-year DE Tyquan Lewis could see more time at defensive tackle.

Jaguars

  • A respected NFL GM tells Peter King that he’ll be “shocked” if the Jaguars don’t grab an offensive tackle at No. 7 overall: “I’ll be shocked if the Jaguars don’t go tackle here.”
  • For what it’s worth, King lists Florida’s Jawaan Taylor as a name to watch for Jacksonville.

Texans

  • According to Tom Pelissero, the Texans beat out several other teams for Jack Easterby by giving him a four-year contract and title of Executive Vice President of Team Development.
  • Memphis RB Darrell Henderson visited the Texans. (Aaron Wilson)
  • Alabama State OT Tytus Howard also visited the Texans. (Wilson)
