AFC South Notes: Colts, Jaguars, Titans

Colts

Colts HC Frank Reich told reporters after Sunday’s game that QB Jacoby Brissett’s knee injury is “MCL-ish.”

“MCL-ish. I think it looks like a sprain but we’ll see to what degree. We have to see how it responds,” Reich said, per Kevin Bowen

Brissett said that he wanted to return to the game, but his lack of lateral mobility led to him sitting out.

“My job is lateral,” Brissett said, via ESPN.com. “I didn’t think it was ready to go and I think we did a couple of test and the doctors confirmed it. Obviously I’m in there pushing it, trying to get out there, but it wouldn’t have been smart.

Jaguars

Jaguars HC Doug Marrone said he’ll likely make a decision on the starting quarterback between Nick Foles and sixth-round rookie Gardner Minshew next Sunday.

“Well, I haven’t spoken to either quarterback yet, and I hate talking through the media about my plans, but the plans were — again, the disappointment of the team, not performing well, will be on my mind now for the next 48 hours,” Marrone said, per James Palmer. “I think after those 48 hours are over, I’m going to step away a little bit, take a break because I don’t have to make a decision and have time. That’s what I’m going to talk to the quarterbacks about, and then I’ll tell them probably right before we come back on Sunday, we’ll be able to discuss where we’re going to go. That’s pretty much my plan.”

Titans

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Titans CB Malcolm Butler suffered a broken wrist during Sunday’s game. He’s undergoing further tests to determine how severe the injury is.
