AFC South Notes: Colts, Jaguars, Titans

Colts

  • Per Fox59/CBS4’s Mike Chappell, Colts K Adam Vinatieri will have surgery to repair meniscus and patella issues in his knee and says he wants to still play another season depending on how his recovery goes.
  • According to Vinatieri, the surgery will necessitate a four to six-month rehab. (Chappell)
  • Colts HC Frank Reich said he wouldn’t be surprised if the 47-year-old Vinatieri kicked for another year: “I haven’t had a long heart-to-heart with him yet, but it’s my understanding that in his mind, Adam’s not done. That doesn’t surprise me. That guy inspires me.” (Zak Keefer)
  • Reich added WR T.Y. Hilton is still week-to-week with his calf injury. (Kevin Bowen)
  • The Colts placed second-round rookie WR Parris Campbell on injured reserve because of a broken foot he sustained during Sunday’s game, though he was able to play through it. (Joel Erickson)
  • The Colts worked out TE Jerell Adams on Friday. (Howard Balzer)

Jaguars

  • Jaguars WR DJ Chark’s left foot was in a protective boot and he left the locker room using a scooter, according to Michael DiRocco
  • Jaguars HC Doug Marrone said Chark was in a boot and would be week-to-week with an ankle injury. (DiRocco)
  • He added Jaguars S Ronnie Harrison has cleared the concussion protocol and should be ready to play next week.

Titans

Titans RB Derrick Henry was on his way to continuing his dominant run of strong performances early on Sunday against the Raiders with 55 rushing yards and a touchdown when he picked up a hamstring injury. Rather than going to the sideline to start the recovery process, Henry played through the injury.

“Yeah, ain’t no quittin’ in me,” Henry said via the Athletic’s John Glennon. “My leg would have to be halfway off for me to stop. So I’m going to go out there and help my team win games, play through it.”
