AFC South Notes: Jaguars, Texans, Titans

Jaguars

Jaguars OT Jawaan Taylor mentioned that he is focusing on reducing his penalties while improving his footwork and strength this offseason. 

“All of the things I need to improve on, I’ve been working on so far in the offseason,” Taylor said, via John Oehser of the team’s official site. “Even though the virus stuff is going on, I focus on certain things I need to get better at. I did go back and looked at certain things I did well. It was a big year for me, I thought, but I could also do a lot better so I’m looking forward to having a good year in this season coming up.”

Texans

• According to the Athletic’s Aaron Reiss, Texans WRs Kenny Stills and Keke Coutee are two candidates to be playing for other teams at some point this season. 
• Reiss writes Coutee was on the roster bubble even before the Texans shook up their receiving corps. As for Stills, he played a prominent role last year but has a redundant skillset to Brandin Cooks and Will Fuller.
• The 28-year-old Stills is in the final year of his contract and has a $7 million cap hit, albeit with no guarantees. Reiss says if Houston can’t find any takers for a late-round pick, Stills could be released. 
• The Redskins and Eagles are in need of a veteran receiver. While Washington has multiple Day 3 picks, the Eagles might give up a 2021 pick if they don’t like what they come away with in the draft, though they have more cap constraints. 
• Reiss says the Texans could be looking to feature RBs David Johnson and Duke Johnson more in the passing game after dealing away WR DeAndre Hopkins. 

Titans

• Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline writes the Titans are among the teams looking to trade down in the first round.
• Pauline says Tennessee has been linked to Georgia OT Isaiah Wilson and might try to trade down and still draft him. 
• NC State DT Larrell Murchison said he has had virtual pre-draft meetings with the Titans. (Daniel Valente)
