AFC West Notes: Chargers, Chiefs, Raiders

Chargers

Chiefs

Raiders

  • On Friday, Antonio Brown rejoined the Raiders for practice and offered the following statement: “I’m excited to be out here today. I want to apologize to my teammates, the organization. Enough talk, man…ready for all the fans.
  • Brown tells Dianna Russini that he did not call GM Mike Mayock a “cracker” and would never use that word, despite the report from earlier in the day.
  • According to Brown, things have been blown out of proportion: “I spoke with Mike Mayock 1-on-1, man-to-man.
  • Pro Football Talk reports that Brown’s $1 million signing bonus was structured as a pair of $500,000 guaranteed workout bonuses for 2019 and 2020. This means that Brown still had to show up for at least 85 percent of the offseason program to get the $500,000 for 2019, but he’s now out this sum for not reporting.
  • PFT adds that by keeping Brown on their roster for Week 1, the Raiders will have no way to avoid paying him $14.625 million this year.
