According to Chris Mortensen, the Bears are activating DL Akiem Hicks from their injured reserve to active roster and is “ready to play” in Week 15’s game against the Packers.
Hicks, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Saints back in 2012. He was traded to the Patriots back in 2015.
After playing out his rookie contract, Hicks signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the Bears. Chicago later agreed to a four-year, $48 million extension that included $30 million guaranteed in 2017.
He was placed on injured reserve back in October and designated as a player to return two weeks ago.
In 2019, Hicks has appeared in four games for the Bears and recorded six tackles, one sack and a fumble recovery.
