The Chicago Bears officially designated DT John Jenkins to return from injured reserve on Monday.
This opens a three-week window of time for the Bears to activate him from injured reserve and add him to their 53-man roster.
Jenkins, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Saints back in 2013. Jenkins spent three years in New Orleans before he was waived during the 2016 season.
From there, Jenkins played for a number of teams including the Seahawks, Giants, Dolphins and Bears. Chicago re-signed him to a one-year deal this past April.
In 2020, Jenkins has appeared in two games for the Bears and recorded two tackles.
