Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Bears plan to promote RB Lamar Miller to their active roster for Monday’s game against the Vikings.
The Bears have already ruled out RB David Montgomery with a concussion.
Miller, 29, is a former fourth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with Miami before agreeing to a four-year, $26 million contract that included $14 million guaranteed with the Texans back in 2016.
Miller made a base salary of $5.5 million for the 2019 season before becoming an unrestricted free agent this offseason. He has worked his way back from a turn ACL.
The Bears signed Miller to their practice squad last month.
In 2018, Miller appeared in 13 games for the Texans and rushed for 917 yards on 193 carries (4.8 YPC) to go along with 23 receptions for 163 yards receiving and five total touchdowns.
