Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Bears have informed veteran TE Fendi Onobun that he is being released.
Onobun, 27, signed a reserve/future contract with Chicago back in December, so he was facing long odds of making the team’s final 53-man roster this summer.
Onobun is a former basketball player who spent the entire 2013 season on the Bears’ practice squad. There is a chance that someone could bring him in for training camp.
It’s worth mentioning that Onobun hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since 2011 when he was with the Buffalo Bills.
