The Chicago Bears announced Monday that they’ve signed DB Alex Carter to their practice squad and released WR Mario Alford from the unit.
The Bears’ practice squad now consists of:
- OL Brandon Greene
- DL Rashaad Coward
- OL Cameron Lee
- WR Mario Alford
- DB Doran Grant
- WR Nelson Spruce
- TE Colin Thompson
- G Travis Averill
- WR Tanner Gentry
- WR Demarcus Ayers
- DB Alex Carter
Carter, 22, is a former third-round pick of the Lions back in 2015. He was waived by the Lions at the start of last season and later signed to their practice squad before eventually being called up in December.
Unfortunately, the Lions elected to move on from Carter coming out of the preseason. He later signed on with the Patriots’ practice squad but was released soon after.
In 2016, Carter appeared in one game for the Lions but did not record a statistic.
