Bears Sign Five Draft Picks

The Chicago Bears announced Wednesday that they’ve signed five draft picks to contracts including fifth-round OT Larry Borom, sixth-round RB Khalil Herbert, sixth-round WR Dazz Newsome, sixth-round CB Thomas Graham Jr. and seventh-round DT Khyiris Tonga.

The Bears have now signed all but two of their 2021 draft picks:

Herbert, 23, was a four-year starter at Kansas before transferring to Virginia Tech and starting there as well. He sat out the final eight games of the 2019 season and redshirted.

During his five-year college career, Herbert had 468 carries for 2,904 yards (6.2 YPC) and 22 touchdowns. He also caught 32 passes for 289 yards (9 YPC) and one touchdown.

Newsome, 22, was an honorable mention All-ACC in 2020.

During his four years at North Carolina, Newsome caught 188 passes for 2,435 yards (13 YPC) and 18 touchdowns.
