The Chicagoย Bears officially signed LB Jameer Thurman to a futures contract for the 2019 season on Friday.
As of now, the Bears have signed 13 players to futures deals including:
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Thurman, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Indiana State back in 2017. He later signed on with the Calgary Stampeders for the 2017 season, but was just recently released from his contract to pursue an NFL opportunity.
In two seasons in the CFL, Thurman recorded 134 tackles, three sacks, three interceptions and three forced fumbles over the course of 35 games.
During his college career, Thurman recorded 340 tackles, seven sacks, five interceptions, seven forced fumbles, five recoveries, and 14 pass defenses over the course of four seasons and 48 games.
