Bears Sign WR Tanner Gentry & OL Travis Averill To Practice Squad

The Chicago Bears announced Monday that they’ve re-signed WR Tanner Gentry and OL Travis Averill to their practice squad and released WR Darreus Rogers from the unit.

The Bears’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. OL Brandon Greene
  2. DL Rashaad Coward
  3. OL Cameron Lee
  4. WR Mario Alford
  5. NT Mike Purcell
  6. DB Doran Grant
  7. WR Nelson Spruce
  8. TE Colin Thompson
  9. WR Tanner Gentry
  10. OL Travis Averill

Gentry, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Wyoming back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Bears cut him loose coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad.

Gentry has been on and off of the Bears’ roster this season.

In 2017, Gentry has appeared in four games and caught three passes for 35 yards receiving and no touchdowns for the Bears.
