Bears Signing S Sherrod Martin

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Bears are signing veteran S Sherrod Martin following the injury to Antrel Rolle.

Martin, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Panthers back in 2009. He wound up playing out his rookie contract with Carolina before signing on with Jaguars in December of 2013.

The Bears signed him to a one-year, $745,000 contract back in June, but later elected to release him just before the start of the season.

In 2014, Martin appeared in 13 games and recorded 16 tackles, one interception, a forced fumble and two pass defenses for the Jaguars.
