According to Howard Balzer, the Bears worked out three tight ends on Tuesday including Rory Anderson, Joel Ruiz, and De’Runnya Wilson.
Anderson, 23, was taken in the seventh round of last year’s NFL draft by the 49ers. Anderson managed to make the 53-man roster last year but was unfortunately cut loose as San Francisco trimmed their roster down to 75 players.
He has generated a decent amount of interest since becoming a free agent and he’s had workouts for the Eagles, Patriots, Bills, Jets, and Buccaneers.
During his four-year college career at South Carolina, Anderson caught 61 passes for 954 yards receiving and nine touchdowns over the course of 43 games.
