Bears Trying Out TE Tony Moeaki After Bringing Him For Workout Last Week

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Bears are trying out veteran TE Tony Moeaki during their minicamp this week.

This comes after Moeaki worked out for the team last week, so it appears as though the Bears want an extended look at him before considering offering him a contract.

Moeaki, 29, is a former third-round of the Kansas City Chiefs back in 2010. Since then, he’s dealt with a number of injuries including knee operations and head injuries.

After brief stints with the Bills and Seahawks, Moeaki signed on with the Falcons in March of last year and has been testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent. However, this is the first reported interest in Moeaki.

In 2015, Moeaki appeared in 10 games for the Falcons and caught three passes for 58 yards receiving and a touchdown.
