Bears Work Out Eight Players

According to Aaron Wilson, the Bears brought in eight free agents for tryouts on Monday including former Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise.

The full list includes:

  1. WR Rodney Adams
  2. WR Jeff Badet
  3. QB Mason Fine
  4. QB Kevin Hogan
  5. WR Austin Proehl
  6. RB C.J. Prosise
  7. QB Kyle Sloter
  8. WR Alex Wesley

Prosise, 26, is a former third-round pick by the Seahawks out of Notre Dame in the 2016 NFL Draft. He played out his four-year, $3.11 million rookie contract and made a base salary of $745,000 for the 2020 season.

Prosise was allowed to walk as an unrestricted free agent this year by Seattle.

In 2019, Prosise appeared in nine games and rushed for 72 yards on 23 carries (3.1 YPC) to go along with 10 receptions for 76 yards receiving and one total touchdown.

Hogan, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2016. He was waived coming out of the preseason and was later signed to the Browns’ practice squad before being called up a few months into the 2016 season.

In 2018, the Browns traded Hogan and a 2018 sixth-round pick to the Redskins in exchange for a 2018 sixth-round pick.  The Redskins waived Hogan in September and he was claimed by the Broncos.

Denver re-signed Hogan in 2019 but waived him during final roster cuts.

In 2017, Hogan appeared in four games and thrown for 517 yards while completing 61.3 percent of his passes to go along with four touchdowns and five interceptions.
