Bears Worked Out 9 Players Including WRs Rueben Randle & Keshawn Martin

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Bears brought in nine players for workouts on Monday including WR Rueben Randle, WR Dres Anderson, WR Keshawn Martin and CB D’Joun Smith.

  • Brad Biggs adds that Chicago also worked out WR Quinshad Davis, DB Trae Elston, DB Tevin McDonald, DB Rolan Milligan and DB Varmah Sonie.

This is the first reported interest in Randle since he tried out for the Saints at the start of the season.

Randle, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Giants back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with the Giants before signing a one-year, $1.025 million contract with the Eagles back in March.

The Eagles ultimately elected to cut him loose as they got down to the 75-man roster limit.

In 2015, Randle appeared in all 16 games for the Giants and recorded 57 receptions for 797 yards receiving and eight touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 77 receiver out of 121 qualifying players.

Martin, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Texans back in 2012. He spent just over three years in Houston before he was traded to the Patriots a few weeks into the regular season.

The Patriots signed Martin to a two-year, $3 million deal back in January, but he was, unfortunately, one of the team’s final roster cuts as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit. The 49ers signed him to a contract back in September but elected to cut him loose a few weeks ago.

In 2016, Martin appeared in one game and totaled 37 kick-return yards and a fumble.
