Adam Schefter reports that the Bengals releasing OT Cordy Glenn on Friday after they were unable to trade him.
The Bengals had been attempting to trade Glenn dating back to last year, but it was clear that this was the likely outcome.
Glenn was suspended by the Bengals last year after being fined $200,000 as the two sides had friction over his return from a concussion suffered during the preseason. Glenn and a member of the coaching staff reportedly had a heated argument, according to reports, which resulted in Glenn eventually telling HC Zac Taylor to just cut him.
Glenn was upset because he believes the Bengals rushed him back from his concussion.
Glenn, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Bills back in 2012. Buffalo traded Glenn to the Bengals in 2018 as part of a pick swap.
Glenn is currently in the final year of his five-year, $65 million contract that included $36 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $7.5 million for the 2020 season.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Glenn will free up $9.5 million of available cap space while creating no dead money.
In 2019, Glenn appeared in six games for the Bengals, starting five games at left tackle.
