Update:
Patriots QB Tom Brady told Jim Gray of Westwood One prior to theย Super Bowlย that he will return for the 2018 season.
“Yeah, you’re gonna see me playing football next year,” Brady said, via NFL.com. “I don’t envision not playing. You’re at the end of the race but you’ve got your biggest mountain to climb right at the end. Hopefully all the lessons we’ve learned have allowed us to be at our very best for this moment and that’s what it’s going to take and that’s what we’re prepared for and that’s what I go out and expect our team to do.”

Dianna Russini mentioned earlier in the day that there have been rumors circulating throughout the NFL that Super Bowl LII could be the final game for both HC Bill Belichick and QB Tom Brady.
Russini added: “Both could be hanging it up. Post game could be incredible tonight if this becomes truth.”
However, Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen both made it clear that Brady and Belichick are expected to return for the 2018 season.
There has been a lot made about the Patriots’ future since ESPN published an article last month thatย there’s a “palpable sense” within the Patriots that this could be the last year that Brady, Belichick andย Robert Kraft will be together in New England.
Kraft has since said that he believes they can keep Belichick and Brady in place for the foreseeable future.
“Well whatever I can do, you know. In life, you know, the hardest thing is to surround yourself with quality people, even in a marriage if it’s your partner, and then having continuity,” Kraft said when asked about keeping continuity. “Life is difficult, especially if you’re doing things at a high level. Having continuity, keeping things going… You know that fact that Tommy and Bill Belichick and my family have been together for 18 years.”
Although, Kraft did say that some egos will need to be kept in check.
“There’s a lot of strong-minded people, but when you have something good going, everybody’s got to get their egos checked in and try to hold it together,” Kraft said.
New England is in a position where they’re facing a great deal of turnover in terms of their coaching staff, given that Josh McDaniels and Matt Patricia are set to accept head-coaching jobs and special teams coordinator Joe Judge will be a free agent in the coming days.
Even so, as long as Brady and Belichick are in place, it’s a good bet that they’ll be able to adjust and mitigate the losses.
We’ll have more regarding the Patriots as the news is available.
