Adam Schefter reports that the Bills are hosting free agent CB Vontae Davis for a visit on Thursday.
This is the first reported visit for Davis since he underwent surgery last year.
Earlier in the week,ย Schefter reported that Davis had been medically cleared following afterย undergoing groin surgery during the season and is expected to draw interest from NFL teams before free agency opens.
The Colts elected to waive Davis back in November after a falling out with the team, due to differing opinions about his injury. Davis wound up sitting out the remainder of the season, even though there was some buzz that he could catch on with a team for the playoffs.
Davis, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2009. He spent three years in Miami before he was traded to the Colts for the 2012 season.
Davis was in the final year of his four-year, $36 million contract that included $20 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $9 million for the 2017 season when the Colts waived him.
In 2017, Davis appeared in four games and recorded 17 tackles, no interceptions and a pass defense.
