Bills Interviewing Packers Personnel Director Brian Gutekunst For GM Job

Ian Rapoport reports that the Bills are interviewing Packers director of player personnel Brian Gutekunst for their GM position on Monday.

Gutekunst was actually considered the favorite to be hired as the 49ers’ general manager at one point back in January. However, both he and Eliot Wolf pulled out of the job and San Francisco eventually hired John Lynch.

Gutekunst is the fourth candidate to interview with the Bills for their vacancy.

Earlier in the day, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Panthers assistant GM Brandon Beane will have a second interview with the Bills regarding their GM vacancy and appears to be the favorite for the job.

The Bills have also interviewed Texans director of player personnel Brian Gaine and Eagles college scouting director Trey Brown for their vacancy.

Buffalo officially fired GM Doug Whaley following the 2017 NFL Draft, which didn’t come as much of a surprise, considering that there had been rumors that Whaley would be replaced for months.

We’ll have more regarding the Bills’ GM search as the news is available.
