Bills President Russ Brandon announced Tuesday that team founder and owner Ralph Wilson has died, per Tim Graham.
Wilson was 95 years old and the oldest owner in the National Football League. He founded the Bills back in 1960 and was one of the owners who created the American Football League.
The AFL would later merge with the NFL in 1970.
Wilson was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on 2009 and was considered an icon in the NFL.
There has been some question regarding the Bills future in Buffalo as reports have indicated that the team could be sold at some point.
According to Jason La Canfora, there will be “several suitors” trying to purchase the Bills in Western New York and in Ontario.
We’ll have an update from the team as soon as it’s available.
