Bills Place DE Bryan Cox Jr On IR, Sign Two

The Buffalo Bills announced Tuesday that they’ve placed DE Bryan Cox Jr on injured reserve with an Achilles injury and signed DTs Eli Ankou and Nazair Jones to contracts.

Cox, 26, wound up signing on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Florida back in 2017. He was waived coming out of the preseason but was later added to their practice squad before eventually promoted to the Panthers’ active roster.

Cox managed to make the 53-man roster in 2018 and was re-signed as an exclusive rights free agent. He was on and off the Panthers’ active roster and practice squad before the Browns signed him.

Cleveland did not tender Cox last year and he later signed with the Bills. He was on and off of the Bills’ roster last year before returning to Buffalo on a futures contract.

For his career, Cox has appeared in 20 games for the Panthers and Bills while recording 17 tackles, no sacks and a fumble recovery.
