Bills GM Brandon Beane told reporters this morning that LT Dion Dawkins and OL Ike Boettger have been placed on the COVID-19 list, per Marcel Louis-Jacques.
Dawkins, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Bills back in 2017. He was in the final year of his four-year, $4.18 million contract that included $1.93 million guaranteed when he signed a four-year, $60 million extension with Buffalo.
Dawkins is set to make base salaries of $7.3 million and $8.13 million over the next two seasons.
In 2020, Dawkins appeared in all 16 games for the Bills, making 16 starts at left tackle. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 14 offensive tackle out of 79 qualifying players.
Boettger, 26, wound up signing on with the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa back in 2018. He received a three-year, $1.71 million deal but was waived coming out of the preseason.
The Chiefs claimed Boettger off waivers before waiving him a little over a week later. The Bills claimed Boettger back and he’s remained on the team since. Buffalo re-signed him as a restricted free agent heading into 2021.
In 2020, Boettger appeared in 12 games for the Bills and made seven starts.
