Josina Anderson of ESPN reports that Bills RB LeSean McCoy will not play in Sunday’s game against the Dolphins and could miss more time thereafter, depending on how his hamstring injury heals.

Bills mentioned Thursday that they were holding out hope that McCoy could be available. However, it appears as though the hamstring injury is serious enough that he’s going to need at least a week to heal.

With McCoy out of the lineup, the Bills will turn to Mike Gillislee in Week 7.

McCoy, 28, is in the second year of his five-year, $40 million contract that includes $26.05 million guaranteed. He stands to make a base salary of $4.8 million for the 2016 season.

In 2016, McCoy has appeared in six games and rushed for 587 yards on 104 carries (5.6 YPC) to go along with 20 receptions for 97 yards receiving and seven total touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 3 running back out of 55 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding McCoy and his injury as the news is available.
