Vic Carucci reports that the Bills have released veteran RB Fred Jackson on Monday, as they work to get their roster down toย 75 players by tomorrow’s deadline.
- Ian Rapoport reports that the Bills did no ask Jackson to take a pay cut to be back with the team, and instead released him outright.
- Charles Robinson does not expect Jackson to be out of work long, as there are several teams looking for veteran running backs at bargain prices.

Jackson, 34, was entering the final year of his two-year, $5.24 million contractย and would have made a base salary ofย $2.35 million for the 2015 season.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Jackson will free upย $2,731,250 in cap space while creating noย dead money.
In 2014, Jackson ran for 525 yards on 141 carries (3.7 YPC) to go along with 66 receptions for 501 yards receiving and three total touchdowns.
